What a week!!!

It's been a week already since I came home from my little holiday......and what a week it has been. First I wanted to work complete days again. Because of my back pain I have worked only 20 hrs instead of 40 hrs for the last couple of weeks. And believe it or not...this is much better again. Less stressful. But I also got some bad news. In my old street there are many people who lived there for 25 or more years.....even I (and I am only 30 years old). I got the news that my former neighbour has died from a stroke during her holiday. She was on her way to Spain with her husband when they stopped for the night. They are both above 75 so driving in one time is too much. But unfortunately, she didn't make it to their lovely Spain this time. In our street everybody knows her. In the past, every little kid in the street played in her house at least once in the last 30 years. She was known for her sound of voice, which was really loud......but she was kind of our street's grandmother. It's difficult to explain.....I have moved out of street 6 months ago, but I am there at her funeral.....and a lot of my neighbours will too. Just because she was so known. We will miss her.

During the week I also scrapped again......a little something for Scraptacular again. We had to make a layout about ourselves. Then everyone who enters the store will recognize the designteammembers. Our deadline was somewhere in the summer....but I never can wait that long. If I have to do something I do it quickly, hahaha....and it became a real "Leontine"-layout again. Normally I have difficulties scrapping about me, but in this case name my favourite tools and things like that and we are done!

Back in town

I am back home after a delicious week in the eastern part of Holland. The environment there is soooo different then in the western part where I live. The camping we stayed is in the middle of forrests. Everywhere you look, you see trees and different colours of green. At first, the week wasn't supposed to be this great if we speak about the weather. But we had a great week, with only a few drops of rain in the end. On Tuesday we went to the "Apenheul". This is a parc with only monkeys. And in some parts of the parc there walk loose, so you can come really close to them. I really enjoyed it although I saw most animals through my camera LOL.

The rest of the week we spent mostly on the camping, reading books and scrapbookmagazines! And hiking through the forrests. On Friday we went to a field where the ashes of diseased peoples are spread. My grandmother who passed away three years ago, lies here too. And the environment there is really beautiful. It was good to see it. We thought that it was rather close to the camping so we went there by bicycle. Only it wasn't so close by as we thought....so we have done 31km all together. Through the forrest on small paths. I really enjoyed that although I was really tired when we got back on the camping.

Yesterday, on my last day...we went hiking again. And when you see this you wish you lived there to enjoy this every day!! I know our dog had a great time!!

And last but not least....I bought a new camera this week!! I had a Canon 350d but some functions didn't work anymore because I dropped it once. And I didn't use all the functions, so I thought it was a waste of money to buy a 450d now. So this is my new camera: a Canon Powershot S5 IS. It has a lot of functions my 350d also had, but the most practical is the screen which you can point in almost all directions. And you can zoom in much more than with my 350d. I only have it for a few days and I want to read the manual first....but I made some beautiful pictures already......

So back to work and normal things now......but I needed this week.....I am completely relaxed again!!

Scenic Route Providence

I posted a sneak earlier this week about this layout. Now that Anne-Marie has seen it and it is in the store I can show all of you. I really enjoyed working with this line from Scenic Route. The colours are really great for a lot of photos, although I chose for black and white. Scenic Route askes for simple sketches for your layout (at least that is my opinion), so I kept it simple.

I also made a card with the leftovers I had. Real fun to do such a card. Also a simple layout. The idea for the scalloped side I got from 2 sketches 4 you, a new sketch blog. The rest of the layout came easily afterwards ;-)

Happy me

Look what I received in the mail just now!! After seeing the tool on Ingrid's blog on May 27th I immediately ordered this tool in America. Because I just love scalloped papers! And today already ( I totally forgot about it already) I received it in the mail. Of course I tried immediately, and it works rather easy, although I don't think it will work on papers thicker than cardstock. Well you know what I will be doing this weekend ;-) Making layouts and cards with my new tool (if my back agrees to that).

p.s I "stole" this picture from Ingrid's blog

New banner

I already had a self-made banner, but I was not happy with it. It was dull and simpel. So I wanted to have something else. This morning I tried to be creative. I still love the Doodlebug paper in my banner. I make most of my cards with this paper. I even bought a few new papers yesterday because there was not much left anymore, hahahaha. It's so bright. The colours really sparkle! So the choice which papers I wanted to use for my banner was not very difficult hahaha. It's not a very difficult banner, but I love it. Scanning was not good, so I tried to make a photo. I am very happy with the result! And Nancy....I love the way you make your flowers, so I use the idea very often now!!
