MOJO #113

I was hopping some blogs this afternoon and on Jolanda's blog I saw that she had made an album for her nestabilities or spellbinders. I have been walking with this thought for quite a while now, but the how made me wait. But this afternoon I started. After cycling to the shops three times in a row (1st time I wasn't aware of what I wanted yet and the 2nd time I forgot my money, how stupid can you be!) I found a good solution for my album: magnetic photopaper. I glued the photopapier top down on some chipboard and put a patterned paper over it. And my spellbinders stick. The inside is not that special....I just marked the pages with what's on it.

But the front of the album I based on sketch 113 from Mojo Mondays challenge. It was either that one or 2 sketches 4 you but the Mojo fitted better to my album.

DCL #24

I've never played with the Dutch Card Lovers challenge before, but yesterday I thought I'd give it a try. I liked the sketch....but the further I was working on my card the harder it got. I like the way my card turned out to be, but he's nothing like I planned on forehand. And that's often the case with a lot of us I guess.

I couldn't resist

I really couldn't. Each week I get a newsletter from Sweet Shoppe Designs with all new designs. Slowly the winter and Christmas kits are taking over. And I love it!! So far this kit is my favourite this year (it's so bright!), so I wanted to play with it on my blog. And who knows? The year isn't over yet, my blog appearance can change again quite easily!

I like Christmas very much. Christmas trees, candles all over the place, nice dinners. Yes, that's my kind of party! But here in Holland we celebrate something else before Christmas: Sinterklaas. Tomorrow Sinterklaas is coming all the way from Spain again....We celebrate his birthday on December 5th with lots of presents from him to all the children in our country. We eat marzipan, brown spiced bicuit and "pepernoten". So welcome Sinterklaas!!!

Got Sketch #93

The last couple of days I spent in bed....really sick. I had all symptoms of normal flu, except for fever. Sometimes you can better have it all. I felt nothing like myself and I hate that. To sick to be out of bed but after three days in bed, your back is hurting I can tell you. Today is the first day I am a little bit out of bed, dressed...and everything. But I have to do everything in a very low pace. And that's difficult for someone who is always busy doing something. This afternoon I had to go to the doctor's for my flu shot (Mexican flu)....Oh I really hate needles and I hate them sooooo much I am almost crying most of the time. And afterwards? Well...it didn't even hurt that much. Hahaha. I can only feel that I was not relaxed. One advantage of being sick: I am completely on track with all soaps, tellsell products and news. No I rather go to work....or have a real day off. I think most of you agree on that!
But because I am feeling better today I wanted to do something. So I tried to make a card. This time I choose the sketch of Got Sketch. I like all the colours of the October Afternoon Cherry Hill papers but I have hard time making something with it. I guess this one worked out alright.

Card Patterns #40

After starting making X-mas cards in September and done about 30 off them you can imagine I am a little tired of X-mas cards. When I saw the sketch on Card Patterns this week I thought this was the perfect opportunity to do things differently. I made a digital card this week. All my close friends and relatives will get a home made card....either computer made or with paper. But my stash with birthdaycards is a bit slinking the last couple of weeks, so I really need to make some of those now. And maybe, just maybe.....I will make a few more. But hey...this card isn't that bad either. And printed on beautiful cardstock will probably give that little bit of extra.

Oh by the way: I used this kit from Sweet Shoppe Designs. Their kits are really the best....OK, in my opinion at least!

Laura #38 and MOJO111

Today was not an "ordinairy" Monday: I had to work, hahaha. And I had a rough time coming out of bed this morning. That had a little to do with the fact that I am not used to standing up so early on a Monday anymore (how quickly you get used to something ;-) ). But it had more to do with the fact I went to bed rather late last night. We went to a performance of Nick & Simon again. They are my favourite scrapping music I can tell you.
Because I had to work today I couldn't play with 2 sketches and Mojo Monday this afternoon, but this evening my mom came by for a little cardmaking night. Well, I did two cards....and she did nothing, hahaha. Lots of inspiration through her head, but nothing came out really. I didn't feel like making X-mas cards tonight, so I used the left-overs from yesterday's layout. The first card is for MOJO Monday. The second is for 2 sketches 4 u.

You & Me

In my previous post this morning I already said something about this photo. For me this photo is really special. You can see how much we like each other. Just with a simple kiss on the cheek. I want to thank Joop for shooting this photo of us. I already had this patterned paper from My Mind's Eye for a while now. But I like it too much to make cards immediately. I wanted to make a layout first. I don't do layouts much lately. This layout was based on sketch 63 of Creative Scrappers. We are already at sketch 76 so this is an oldie. But it fitted me perfectly.

More X-mas cards

Last Thursday the new Cards Only magazine was dropped in my mailbox. So I spent the next hour to just quickly go past all the cards in the magazine. It can't be any surprise that the magazine is full of X-mas cards! So lots of inspiration! I had bought some Jillibean Grandma's soup papers but I couldn't get any ideas of what to so with them. After seeing some cards in the magazine made by Hanneke I was totally hooked. I really loved the little 4 inch cards. So I simply copied....with on some of them a little of my own touch. Thanks Hanneke for so much inspiration.

The photos are a bit terrible but that's because of the weather here. It's cloudy and grey outside. Perfect weather to just stay inside, drink some hot drinks and just scrap the whole day! Last week Eric and I got a little present from Joop, a friend of Eric's. He shot two photos of us during an event. He printed them large for us. Perfect photos to scrap. One of them is really my favourite as it really shows how crazy we are about each other. I hope to show you the layout I made soon!

Happy birthday 2 you

Tonight my friend and collegue Caroline called me: do you have a fun birthday card for our boss? Well....ehm....I have a lot of birthday cards in my stash but men's cards are not my favourite to make. I have a lot of pink ones though. To make a long story shorter: I promised her to make a card if I couldn't find one. But what do you make for a person who is only your boss for 2 months!! And I couldn't wait too long, because his birthday is tomorrow. I kept it simple with a little fun blink. I hope he likes it, otherwise my career could be shorter than I want to, hahaha.

Thinking of you

Eric has asked me to make a card with a pig on it. Wow, that was hard, imagine that pigs are pink and not all pinks match with other colours. The second thing that was hard, was the reason. He wanted to send a card to a friend of him which is really sick. So I dove up a picture of a pig which is quite funny I guess. I wanted to let him laugh about the card, eventhough the reason he's in the hospital is not something to laugh about at all. So this is what I came up with. A guy card with a little pink on it....

Minibook Thailand

It has been almost five months since I came back from my fabulous trip to Thailand. I had so many photos that a minibook seemed out of the question. Well, it was kinda....I made two minibooks!!! Part 1 and part 2, hahaha. I only had 1 inch rings for my Bind it all, but that was not big enough for all pages, so I made two books. Covers are completely the same. The inside is quite simple actually, because I wanted the photos and text to be most important. it was a hard struggle to finish it. I had a period that I was looking at a mountain of photographs out of which I just couldn't choose. What was coming in and what's not? In the end I am very pleased with the result. The whole journey was incredible, but with this minibook I certainly have a great memory for the future.

If you see all pictures like this, it seems a huge job and it was. That makes me extra proud of this minibook which isn't so mini afterall. I know one thing for sure now: I am now really tired of this Traveler line from Little Yellow Bicycle, hahaha. But I have to say, this line is really easy to work with.

Hooray!!!!

I know it's late but I just want to yell: HOORAY!!! My minibook about Thailand is done. Tonight I finished all the texts and pages. Tomorrow I will make pictures during daylight and post them here.....but I am so excited! I'll leave you guys waiting with one of my favourite photos from my holiday!

MOJO 108

And I have a feeling that Mojo Monday is also becoming part of my free Mondays from now on. If I have inspiration enough I can do both cards before dinner!! On this card I used the Sweet Celebration line from Bella Blvd. I normally really dislike yellow, but in combination with all those other colours it's even nice ;-) I really like the candles! This is really a girly card though. I wished there was more birthday paper for boys too. Maybe skip the pink and add some blue or green paper??? What do you think?

Kazan #37

A new free Monday for me. I think I can get used to this. Waking up a little later than usual, visiting some blogs and forums in your pyjamas with a cup of tea. Yes, I really think I can. And although I have been doing some chores today, it's really my day. I did a little shopping, bought a new winter jacket and a sweater and some little other things, went to the dentist. Luckily he likes me and my teeth ;-) and now some time to scrapbook before making dinner.

I made another Christmas card (about 15 cards to go), but not with MME papers. Last week I bought this Jillibean Grandma's Christmas Soup line at Papers and Pictures. The MME papers are still my favourite, but a little change once in a while can't harm anyone.

Nick & Simon

When I posted the X-mas cards this morning and talked about our "passion" for Nick and Simon I suddenly thought of a great photo of my SIL and I taken during one of their concerts in my hometown! I really like this photo a lot. You can really see how much I changed and how close we are. On November 1st the next concert is planned. I hope we have as much fun as we had here!

This is a digital layout. I used the same kit as I used for my blog. This is one of my favourite kits since I do digital. The colours, flowers and the dots are great. I didn't use a digital template this time. I had a picture from My Mind's Eye and I liked the layout so I copied. The outcoming is really different so I am very pleased with this......
